Who are The Loose Ends?

The Loose Ends have been a staple in the Cape Town Psych scene since 2017.  Along the way they've finely honed their craft. With their heady mix of intergalactic psychedelia and pounding riffage, they are a band that is as equally likely to ponder on the passing of time and the celestial orgy that is space as they are to sing about systematic oppression or just being plain broke. There's a lot going on here, is what we're saying.

Their unconventional song structures and stylistic switch ups mean you never know if you'll get some achingly beautiful guitar melodies, or a mic stand kicked to the floor as the band decides to blow out with some fuzzy punk bliss.

What do the Press Say?

"Mkhize’s delivery is honest and raw from start to finish and his emotions are wonderfully complemented by the musicians around him." - Texx and The City

"The track pulses with the restless energy that only a debut can, and yet its assuredness is surprising for a first outing…." - SA Music News & Entertainment

"In my opinion, this is one of the most rocking tracks that I’ve heard by a South African artist / band in 2020. The track had me hooked from the second I pressed play." - Running Wolfs Rant

Notable shows:

In the little time The Loose Ends have been around, they have played over 50 shows & festival dates around the Cape with a variety of artists such as local juggernaughts BCUC, Medicine Boy & international heavy weights, Night Beats, YAK & Holy Wave on stages such as Endless Daze & Mercury Live.
