Live At Basement Floods

THE EP

Ghost Ponies are shapeshifting into a fully fledged live band with a full compliment of musos backing up lead vocalist Jordan Levinson. 'Live at Basement Floods', however, acts as a counterpoint to this evolution. This collection of tracks showcases Levinson as a solo artist as she winds her way through some of her most moving materials. All the tracks were recorded live at an old friend's upstate New York studio over the course of a weekend.

Ghost Ponies' music is grown from many times and places, rooted in Delta blues, classic soul and psychedelic folk. Their sound is windswept, thinky, and deeply feminine, all smoky vocals and warm retro-electrics. Principal songwriter, Jordan Levinson, came of age as an Americana songwriter in the Antifolk scene of early 2000’s NYC. During that time she fronted Brooklyn psych-grunge act Tiny Beast, dipped a toe into Nashville alt-country and packed up for distant pastures. She is now based in Cape Town where she is growing this project into a full live band.
